About ABINI

At ABINI, the Balearic National and International Real Estate Association, we work for the benefit of real estate professionals in the Balearic Islands.

We are a  non profit organisation. At ABINI, we provide our members with services and information with the aim to nourish and improve the professionalism in the real estate industry.

Our values:

commitment, perseverance, seriousness, integrity, diligence, professionalism.

Initially, ABINI was founded by two agencies in 2020 in response to the necessity of creating an association that would bring together the present and future need and challenges of the real estate sector, together with its main agents within a professional and collaborative environment.

One of the main pillars that justify the creation of ABINI is to dignify the real estate profession. We believe it is necessary to regulate the sector in order to put an end to intrusion. Today we can affirm that we have achieved great progress in this area thanks to the work we have been doing.

Another important milestone is to help solve the problems that exist in the Balearic Islands regarding access to housing. We want to be part of the solution and we work with strong and decisive proposals in this aspect. In the same way, we believe that these solutions do not involve limiting or legislating against buying and selling. We defend the freedom of the market, regardless of the origin or nationality of whoever wants to buy a property.

We work from the unity and common interests. The real estate agencies that are part of ABINI collaborate with the Administration to solve the lack of housing and to promote the good image of those of us who are dedicated to the exciting work of buying and selling real estate.

"Buying or selling a home is one of the most important decisions of our lives and it should not be left in the hands of just anyone, but in the hands of true professionals."

Context

The real estate market, together with the construction sector, is the second strongest industry in the Balearic Islands, with a GDP of more than 20%, right after the tourism sector.

Despite this, the real estate sector has operated as a non-regulated industry.

Actuality

As a consequence of this situation, the government announced in 2020 the need to create standards and rules to be able to regulate and control the real estate sector. By creating a certification programme to guarantee and ensure minimum standards that all real estate agencies in our territory must meet in order to be able to carry out this activity.
